FAST NUMERICAL ALGORITHM FOR HEAT TRANSFER EFFICIENCY OF PRISMATIC CELLULAR MATERIALS
Prismatic cellular metals have one easy flow direction and have attractedsignificant interest for heat sink application including compact electronic coolingdevices and ultra-light actively cooled aerospace structures.Several authors havereported heat transfer efficiency of prismatic materials.However,they focus ondetermining thermal properties of a set of standard cellular topologies or gradedcellular material of one standard cellular material.In this work,the fast numericalalgorithm is presented for evaluating the thermal performance of prismaticcellular materials with non-standard cellular topologies which include themixed-cells topologies,graded-cell topologies and super-cell topologies.Itsabout 3-4 order of magnitudes improvement in computational velocity of thismethod compared with the finite volume method.The validity and applicabilityof method is proved by some examples.
