A NUMERICAL STUDY OF THE ELASTIC PROPERTIES OF LOW DENSITY OPEN-CELL FOAMS WITH TETRAKAIDECAHEDRAL ELLS

Foams have outstanding specific physical and mechanical properties.Theoretical and numerical studies on the dependence of their mechanical propertiesupon the relative density and the complicated microstructures are very important.Inthis paper,the elastic properties of low density open-cell foams withtetrakaidecahedral cells on a BCC lattice,and various beam sections are calculatedbased on Timoshenko beam theory and finite element method (FEM).
