A MICROSTRUCTURE BASED CONSTITUTIVE MODEL FOR THE PSEUDOELASTIC BEHAVIOR OF NITI SMAS SUBJECTED TO NONPROPORTIONAL LOADING

Experiments showed that the pseudoelastic behavior of NiTi shape memory alloys(SMAs) deformed along different loading paths is distinctly different1.Based on the assumption that a repressentative volume element(RVE)of the materials is composed of alternatively arranged parallel lamellas of martensite and austenite,the main characteristics in the pseudoelastic behavior of NiTi SMAs under pure tension and purd torsion.With the proposed approach,the pseudoclastic response of NiTi SMAs under nonproportional tensile-torsional loading is analyzed in this work by extending the oriented lamellar microstructure to randomly oriented lamellar microstructure.
