BUCKLING ANALYSIS OF THE ELECTRODE DELAMINATION DEPOSITED ON THE PIEZOELECTRIC SUBSTRATE

Based on the finite displacement theory of elasticity and the biasing field theoryof an electroelastic body, electrode delaminate buckling of the layered systemcontaining a through-the-width delamination between the metallic electrode and thehalf-space piezoelectric substrate is analyzed. In the plane strain problem, the layeredsystem subjected to compressive strain loads parallel to the free surface is reduced toa set of homogeneous Cauchy-type singular integral equations of the second kind bymeans of the Fourier integral transforms. The singular integral equations are solvednumerically by utilizing Gauss-Chebyshev integral formulae. As an example, thelayered system of the metallic electrode Pt and piezoelectric substrate PZT-4 isconsidered.Numerical results are also given and analyzed.
