A MICRO-MACRO ANALYSIS FOR THE MAGNETOMECHANICAL BEHAVIOR OF MRFs
A micro-macro model is suggested for the magnetomechanical behavior of MRFsbased on micromechanics and a statistical approach.It takes into account the effectsof the intensity of magnetic field,the size and the volume fraction of particles,shearstrain rate and light non-ferromagnetic coating,etc.on the critical shear stress ofMRFs.The common Binghams model and dual-viscosity model can be obtained asits special cases.The model is comprehensive,simple,and can easily be used for theinitial design and optimization of high-performance MRFs.
