OPTICAL BENDING MOMENT AND LIGHT-INDUCED DEFLECTION OF PHOTOCHROMIC LIQUID CRYSTAL ELASTOMERS
In this paper,a light-induced bending model is proposed to simulate the bendingdeflection and stress distribution of certain photochromic liquid crystal elastomer, basing on the simple beam theory. An optical bending moment is applied to replacethe effect of light. As a result, the stress distribution along the thickness is nonlinear, with two or three zero-stress planes.A two-dimensional finite element analysis isfurther implemented to analyze the bending behavior and the stress distribution.
