ANALYSIS OF FATIGUE CRACK INITIATION CAUSE FOR FREIGHT WHEEL PLATE HOLE

摘要：

The paper determined the causes mostly leading to the crack in the plate hole.The failure analysis of the plate material has been investigated.The test resultsindicated the plate-hole crack property,the crack source and the crack propagationdirection,and showed that the plate material had no detects.Then,the fatiguestrength under typical load has been evaluated.The stress superimposing methodwas put forward for solving the stress superimposition under mechanical andthermal loads.The fatigue strength analysis results showed that the couple ofmechanical cyclic stress and thermal tensile stress during braking condition is themain cause of the fatigue crack initiation.
