PHASE TRANSFORMATION INTERNAL FRICTION PEAK IN Ni71Al15Cr10W4 ALLOY
The phase transformation in Ni-AI based alloy has been investigated using a computer-controlled automatic inverted torsion-pendulum.It has been shown that a reversible internal friction peak was observed at about 350℃ and the modulus has a minimum at the peak position.The peak height increases when vibration frequency is decreased.The internal friction peak is considered to originate from the phase transformation of L10 →γ (austenite) in the alloy,which accompanies with Ni2Al phase precipitation from L10 martensite during heating.
