THE IMPACT TENSILE PROPERTIES OF A Ti ALLOY AT DIFFERENT STRAIN RATES
With the MTS material testing machine and the impact tensile technique,the mechanical properties of a Ti alloy at different strain rates were studied.The experiment results indicate that: during the deforming processes,the necking of Ti alloy occurs before fractures; the yield stresses at higher strain rates are higher than the static yield stress; according to the true stress-strain curves ,the Ti alloy is strain softening metal; the fracture strain is greater than 0.11.
