FEM SIMULATION OF INELASTIC CONTACT OF ROUGH BODIES
The surfaces of real machine elements are always rough and represented by sets of microscopic asperities with the shapes determined by the method of generation of geometry.The roughness parameters can be changed significantly during break-in period.It is important for high precision mechanisms,when size deviation of hundreds microns may effect the working capacity of a mechanism.The technique of numerical simulation of inelastic frictional contact of rough bodies is considered.The elasto-plastic pattern of deformation is taken into account during the contact simulation by using the yield theory in iterative procedure of FEM.
