EFFECT OF UV AGEING ON COMPONENTS, STRUCTURE AND PROPERTIES OF ASPHALT
Ageing is one of the principal factors causing the deterioration of asphalt pavements.The effects of UV ageing on the components,structure and properties of asphalt has been evaluated by Corbett method,Fourier transform infrared (FTIR),and Dynamic Shear Rheometer (DSR),respectively.The results of Corbett method show that asphaltenes increased after ageing.The FTIR results present that more carbonyl and sulphoxide groups appear.And the results also show that ageing causes the increase of viscosity.UV-aging significantly increases the complex modulus at low temperature.But complex modulus at high temperature was just lightly affected.
