MULTISCALE SIMULATION OF TWIN GRAIN BOUNDARY EFFECTS ON NANOINDENTATION
To study the grain boundary effects on nanoindentation,the nanoindentation of aluminum twin bicrystals were simulated by multiscale method.The results show that the depth of twin grain boundary from the crystal surface has great effects on the first dislocation emission in nanoindentation.There is a critical value of the twin grain boundary depth about the effects on nanoindentation.When the depth is below the critical value,the strength of first dislocation emission decreases with the depth.When the depth is above the critical value,the twin grain boundary has no effect on the first dislocation emission in nanoindentation.
