HETEROGENEOUS GRAIN BOUNDARY EFFECT TO DISPLACEMENT BURSTS OF NANOINDENTATION
The displacement burst (DB) nucleated at close to the GB by nanoindentation behaves quite differently from that generating inside a grain.Using the recrystallized copper,nanoindentation has been perfbrmed just close to the GB.Indent load and depth curves seem to be divided into two groups.One of those has the larger critical indent load,which implies the first emission inside the grain,the following pile-up,and then the emission across the GB.The other is plotted in the low critical load region,which can be understood as the GB emission.
