NON-FOURIER EFFECTS IN NON-HOMOGENEOUS INNER STRUCTURE MATERIALS

This work aims to analyze the heat-affected zone in materials like meat using hyperbolic heat conduction.Lasers are used in medical procedures like neurosurgery,ophthalmology,corneal surgery and angioplasty.Minimal damage to adjacent healthytissues and efficient dosimetry are the surgical goals for these medical procedures.Temperature rise and heat diffusion at the irradiated zone are two important parameters for these modes of therapy.In applications prior to tumor ablation,the temperature rise at the zone of treatment must be controlled effectively to ensure a total tumor cell necrosis at the desired location and also avoid carbonization of thesurrounding healthy tissue.The radial surface temperature profiles of the sample developed by continuous wave (CW) are obtained by using closed form solution.The solution is in the form of Bessels function.The results obtained are compared with the results obtained by alternating direction implicit scheme (ADI) by Mitra et al2.
