A Single Asian Currency：The Right Time for Asia Now?

摘要：

Nowadays,some people frequently issue a call for Asians to unify their currencies and produce a single currency.But in this paper,it will put forward the arguments that the political prerequisites for Asian integration do not exist,and also economic case for integration is still weak in this region.An important starting point for a successful currency area is that there should be a relatively free flow of goods,services,capital and labor within the currency area.Asian countries will be better advised to patiently expand economic integration in a variety of areas first.Only then,would they have put in place the preconditions necessary for a successful move to integrating currencies.
