The Application of Geographic Information Systems in Logistics Management

摘要：

GIS is a computing application capable of creating,storing,manipulating,visualizing,and analyzing geographic information.It finds its strongest applications in transportation management,urban and regional planning,vehicle routing and parcel delivery,and etc.Many logistics activities such as site selection,location analysis,and transportation are inherently related to geographic knowledge.Therefore,GIS as a powerful analytical tool can be widely applied to logisties management.In this paper,the author will explore some areas where GIS can be applied in logistics management.
