Curve Smoothing Algorithm Based on EMD
Digital geometry signal is nonlinear and non-stationary. Using traditional signal analysis tool such as Fourier transform, Wavelet transform cant decompose the geometry signal efficiently.Empirical mode decomposition (EMD) is a new method for non-stationary signal analyzing. In this paper, a novel algorithm for digital curve smoothing based on EMD is presented. The algorithm composes of following steps: Firstly, extend 2D curve to 1D signal. Secondly, decompose the extended signal into a collection of intrinsic mode functions (IMF) by using EMD. Thirdly, remove the high frequency IMFs and reconstructing the signal. Finally, mapping the reconstructed signal to 2D, and the smoothing curve is obtained.
