ELECTRIC PROPERTIES OF CARBON NANOTUBES ON THEIR CHIRALITY
Carbon nanotubes can be considered as nanotubes rolled up from hexagon lattice of graphite sheet along a special direction,which is depicted by a quantity called chirality.Various chiral nanotubes such as armchair type or zigzag type show different electric properties.In this paper,we have calculated the electric properties and electron transport properties of carbon nanotubes with different chirality using tight binding method.Our calculation showed that these properties are sensitive to chirality,carbon nanotubes can behave as insulator or narrow energy semiconductor or semimetal depend on their chirality.
