STUDY ON THE EFFECT AND MECHANISM OF NATURAL ZEOLITE ON SUPPRESSING ALKALI-AGGREGATE REACTION
Accelerated mortar bar test and concrete prism method were used to detect the alkalireactivity of aggregates used in Beijing. Preventive measures for the alkali-aggregate reactionof these aggregates were also presented. A new rapid test method was proposed to evaluatethe effectiveness of mineral admixtures on suppressing alkali-silica reaction. Based on thismethod and other experiments, the mechanism of natural zeolite in preventing alkali-silicareaction was studied and the role of alkalis in zeolite was fully investigated. Finally two wayswere introduced to use zeolite more effectively.
