Social Responsibility and Public Private Partnership (PPP) as a Tool——A Case in China
This paper reviews the stakeholder theory and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and introduces the concept of PPP as a tool through which CSR is exercised. This is particularly true in China where the government identifies the needs, identifies the partners and sets the guidance on how projects should be developed. The paper also presents CSR as not alien to Chinese culture and as an issue being promoted by the current government under the Harmonious Society policy.
