Supply Chain of Management Information System:Two Platform-based Structures
For a long time, people have discussed how information systems support the development of supply chain management. However, in terms of software product and service, there is little discussion or research concerning the supply chain of MIS, by which MIS is developed and deployed. Literature reviews disclose that it is practically necessary and technically feasible to reconstruct the MIS supply chain. As a result, this paper makes a preliminary definition of MIS supply chain. Based on a general definition, two structure models, manufacture model and retail model, are introduced. Important issues such as development and definitions, participants and contributions, advantages and disadvantages, of both models are discussed in details. Paradigm studies indicate that both models stand for business trend of business software industry.
