UNIAXIAL TIME-DEPENDENT RATCHETING OF SiCp/6061AI COMPOSITES: EXPERIMENTS AND NUMERICAL SIMULATIONS
Uniaxial time-dependent ratcheting of T6-treated SiCp/6061 A1 alloy compositeswas first studied by experiments at room and high temperature (573K).Then,withhelp of a newly developed visco-plastic constitutive model for cyclic stable materialsand its finite element implementation, the ratcheting of the composites wasnumerically analyzed. The effects of particle shape and arrangement, and inteffacialbonding state on the ratcheting were discussed. Finally, the time-dependentratcheting of the composites was simulated by the proposed finite element modelreasonably, and some microscopic deformation features are obtained from thenumerical simulation.
