BUCKLING BEHAVIOR OF DELAMINATED FACE-SHEETS IN SANDWICH PANELS WITH FOAM CORES UNDER DYNAMIC INDENTATION

Buckling behavior of delaminated face-sheets in sandwich panels with foamcores under dynamic indentation has been measured and simulated.An initialdamage model of adhesive layers with heterogeneous interfaces was proposed forface-sheets buckling.The effect of initial damage and its distribution to failure modesof sandwich panels was simulated using the FEM model with heterogeneousinterface.Deformation and buckling procedure of sandwich panels was observed,aswell as damage evolution of adhesive layers.Impact force history curves of sandwichpanels were presented.The model successfully simulated buckling behavior ofdelaminated face-sheets in foam-based sandwich panels under dynamic indentation.
