CREEP-BUCKLING OF GENERAL HEXAGONAL HONEYCOMBS UNDER BIAXIAL COMPRESSION
The creep-buckling behavior of general honeycombs subjected to in-planeremote uniform biaxial compression is investigated by employing the Nortonspower law creep theory and the principle of free energy conservation.Therelation of the stresses and the critical creep-buckling time is derived by equatingthe work-rate due to the compressive loads to the change rate of strain energy inthe three cell edges of honeycombs. The effects of the loads, initial imperfectionand the geometrical parameters of honeycombs on the response curves of thecritical loading and failure time for creep-buckling are discussed.
