EFFECTS OF DEFECTS ON MECHANICAL BEHAVIOR OF LATTICE MATERIALS
The effects of the vacancy point defects on mechanical behavior of planar latticematerials for three isotropic topologies: the regular hexagonal honeycomb,theregular triangular lattice and the Kagome lattice,are investigated,and the affectedregion of the Kagome lattice is found to be much larger.An analytical model basedon an equivalent method and superposition principle is established for the Kagomelattice.The finite element (FE) simulations are carried out to validate the analyticalmodel,and good agreement is found between the numerical and analytical results onthe longitudinal displacement at the defect position.
