Regional Income Gaps and Population Migration--Take Central China as the Example

This paper combines population census of 2000 and some other related data to analyze the interrelationship between regional income gaps and population migration in central China. The result shows that Central-Coastal and Rural-Urban income gaps have enlarged in China. The regional income gaps can promote the population migration, but the population migration has not been sufficient to reduce regional income gaps because of some other reasons.
