Risk Management Strategies for Film-making Companies

Film-making companies operate in a risky business with high uncertainty, so risk management has become a key strategic issue of Chinese film companies. Much of the literature in strategic risk management is contradictory because the researchers have failed to distinguish among different types of risk. Two kinds of risk are addressed in this paper: external risk and internal risk. The SWOT matrix is used to put forward three kinds of risk management strategy: ST strategy, OT strategy and WT strategy. Each strategy contains different kinds of detailed strategies for the film company to avoid the external risks and the internal risks.
