Changes in the Proliferation Activity and Spontaneous Contraction Rhythm of Terminally Differentiated Cardiac Myocytes by Co-treatment with FGF1 and an Inhibitor of p38 MAP Kinase
It has been believed that cardiomyocytes are terminally differentiated cells without proliferating activities. In this study,we examined whether co-treatment with FGF1 and p38i induced proliferation of cardiomyocytes. The present data demonstrated that the co-treatment induced the proliferation of cardiomyocytes and the proliferated cells maintained cardic function. The findings would contribute to the development of novel approaches for heart regeneration.
