Implementation and Standardization of a Telemedicine System Applying 3G Technology for Supporting ICU/CCU Treatment
Telemedicine has become an indispensable reinforcement in many medical fields, and in the future will become more and more important for both medical staffs and patients to make the treatment easier, faster and safer. On the other hand, the burst of the mobile devices makes the development of telemedicine one step forward. The aim of this study is to establish an innovative telemonitoring system of patients in ICU (intensive care unit)/CCU (cardiac care unit).By introducing 3G mobile phone into the system, the Javajiglet application installed on the mobile phone is available for doctors checking the vital physiological data of patients in ICU/CCU.Therefore,in emergency conditions, doctors can get more and more information both from the browsing the screen of the mobile phone and the communicating with the medical staffs who are beside the patients and the monitors. The system can be conducted to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy, efficiency, and safety of telediagnosis.
