Development and Experiment of Earthworm-like Microrobot for Endoscope

This paper proposes a new prototype of microrobot which is supposed to be used as an endoscope.The microrobot we have fabricated and tested is able to propel itself in the intestine canal of pig in an autonomous manner by earthworm-like locomotion.The fabricated microrobot system is detailedly described,including microrobot locomotion principle,structure,wireless power transfer system.The prototype is 12.1mm in diameter and 12.5mm in length.The experimental results show that the driving voltage of microrobot is stable which fulfils the need of the microrobot system.The microrobot can creep reliably in the rubber hose and the intestinal canal of pig.
