Towards Auditory Prosthesis by Cortical Stimulation
Using high spatiotemporal resolution imaging techniques,we have been studying the organization and functional properties of the auditory cortex in guinea pigs,to understand how sound is represented in the cortex. Here Ill present evidence for the identification of several new cortical fields and report functional properties of the primary cortex, which may have implications for auditory prosthesis.
