Quality Improvement of Diffusion Tensor Image in Central Nervous System

DTI(Diffusion Tensor Imaging)and DWI(Diffusion Weight Imaging)can non-invasively show CNS (Central Nervous System)structural integrity information,which is of significant clinical value.Although there have been some applications of DTI and DWI,this diffusion technique has not been extensively applied in clinic like other MRI techniques.Due to the low quality and reliability of datasets available,especially in spinal cord,DTI has been prevented further development in both clinic and research.In order to obtain CNS DTI data of better quality,we mainly discussed the quality improving pipeline,including selection of acquisition sequences,settings of scanning parameters and post-processing of raw DTI data.We gave the detailed analysis and reasons of this process,compared the fiber tracking results before and after the post-processing,and got a systematic method of acquiring and processing DTI data.Some promisings works were also mentioned at the end of this paper.
