Brain and Affective Education

In the educational field,affective factors are always ignored.Neuroscience researches indicate that the brain areas involving cognition and emotions like the amygdale,the insula,the nucleus accumbens,the anterior cingulated cortex,the prefrontal cortex and so on highly overlap.Although Neuroscience seem not to directly relate with educational practice until now,the new-built knowledge about the emotional brain can help educators have an insight into the relationship between emotions and cognition.Affective education aims to improve studentsaffective abilities and make full use of the motivational,informative,communicative,regulative,and protective function of emotions to optimize studentslearning.In the practice of affective education,the first must eradicate threats,and then teachers should involve emotions into teaching and learning by the following ways:(a)to model emotion exhibition about the learning and the subject;(b)to affectively process teaching material;(c)to make affective instruction.
