Activation of the Cortical Response of Human Brain Function in NIRS while Playing the Traditional Mah-jong and the Computer Mah-jong Game

摘要：

Nowadays,there are serious problems of mental health.For higher Quality of Life,we wanted to know what kind of customs and hobby is effective to ones mental health.Therefore we investigated human brain function by using NIRS while playing mah-jong.Three types of games were tested,the traditional mah-jong without any conversation,mah-jong with players freely chatting,and the computer mah-jong game,for each of the six participants 06+12).As a result,they almost all had the same tendency of activation of the cortical response.Mah-jong with chatting was the highest activation,next was mah-jong without any conversation,and the third was the computer mah-jong game.We suggest mah-jong with chatting for low mood persons,because this type requires playing operation and communication that generated high activation.Even If such persons donthave anything to say,they probably react and laugh in response to the other players,occasionally.
