ENERGY OF HOMOGENEOUS SPATIAL STRUCTURE UNDER COMPRESSION
Compressed honeycombs exhibited spatially heterogeneous distributions oflocal strain.The present paper suggests a phenomenological explanation of in-planecompression behavior in honeycombs.The analogy between the deformation ofhoneycomb and a phase transition is considered and analyzed.
