Evaluation of mutagenicity by exposure to intermediate frequency magnetic fields
In this study,we examine mutagenicity of 2,10 and 20 kHz,800 μT intermediate frequency magnetic fields (IF-MFs) by mouse lymphoma assay (MLA) using L5178Y TK+/-3.7.2c cells. The result shows that no significant increase or decrease in mutation frequency by exposure to any IF-MFs.In addition,no significant difference was observed in colony formation such as shape or frequency of large and small colonies between unexposed control and exposed cells. These results suggest that IF-MFs do not have mutagenic potential in the present experimental condition.
