Study based on MNL Model about choices of traffic modes---- Experimental analysis on the survey data in Beijing area

Discrete choice model is widely used in the study of traffic mode choice.Compared with the residents in other cities, the residents in Beijing have more complex traffic modes for their choice, which include bus, city trail (subway/light rail),taxi, self driving vehicle, bicycle and mixed traffic (public traffic and taxi change, self driving vehicle and public traffic change) and others. The choice of citizen traffic modes is influenced by many factors, such as,family income, traffic distance, traffic cost, waiting time and so on.This article analyzes the factors influencing the choice of citizen traffic modes according to the data obtained from actual survey on the consumers with the Multinomial Logit Model in discrete choice model for the purpose to study how the residents choose their traffic modes, especially the traffic modes of private car owners and therefore to determine the traffic choice characteristics of the residents in Beijing and provide relevant decision departments with decision making evidence for public traffic policy.
