The unique growth rates in the wind industry are creating a challenge for the grid operators as well as the wind turbine manufactures. REpower’s wind turbine technology is prepared for a future in which wind energy converters (WEC) will play an active role in stabilizing the electrical grid. All REpower WEC types are equipped with doubly fed induction generators (DFIG) combined with an advanced WEC and wind farm control system and are therefore capable of providing the required voltage control and fault ride through functions
