Detection of blood vessels in retinal images using improved iterative threshold probing of a matched filter response

In this paper,an automated method is proposed to segment blood vessels in retinal images. An input retinal image is first filtered by Gaussian filters, outputting a so-called matched filter response (MFR) image.Feature points are then extracted from the MFR image and used as starting points for improved iterative adaptive local threshold probing.
