A New Heuristic Weighting Function for FDK-based reconstruction of Cone Beam Tomography

Cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) represents advanced technique of computer tomography.And FDK is a kind of efficient reconstruction algorithm of CBCT,which suffers density drop artifact in cone angle direction.A new weighting function is proposed to correct the density drop artifact of FDK reconstruction algorithm.The function corrects angle mismatch during the reconstruction plane away from the midplane.3D Shepp-Logan phantom is used to evaluate the new heuristic weighting function.The result shows the new weighting function has obviously inhibitory effect to the density drop artifact,and it also has higher time resolution than other FDK reconstruction algorithm.
