AN ALGORITHM FOR VANISHING POINT ESTIMATION BASED ON PRE-DETECTING OF VANISHING DIRECTION

Vanishing point involves the direction information of lines, and is more robust than edge and corner features, which can provide a lot of 3D structure and direction information. Most of vanishing points estimation algorithms need extrarestricted conditions based on the scene character. This article presented an algorithm to detect vanishing point based on the pre-detecting of vanishing direction, which doesn’t need extra restricted conditions, and has the property of universality and efficiency.
