Experimental Investigation on Hysteretic Characteristics of a Transmission Tower with Friction-Type Reinforcing Members
Nine transmission towers collapsed,three were damaged severely when the typhoon ‘Maemi’ swept Korea in 2003.Also,prior to the typhoon ‘Maemi’,the design code of the Korean Electrical Power Corporation(KEPCO)was revised due to the necessity of reflecting changes in the wind patterns and velocities,and many existing transmission towers have been retrofitted according to the revised design code.
