Experimental and Theoretical Identification of an Italian Pedestrian Cable-Stayed Bridge
The performance and reliability of civil infrastructure systems such as bridges are governed by a number of factors including the actual operating and loading environments, complex interactions between structural members and systems, and defect, deterioration and damage mechanisms. These factors are studied dynamically with structural identification of various levels of uncertainty which can be attributed to the fabricated-constructed-erected nature of these systems, variability in site characteristics and conditions, material properties and service loads, and direct exposure to the environment over long life-cycles that are often many decades in length..
