Bio-inspired structural monitoring system architecture

摘要：

The infrastructure of a nation provides the backbone for its economy,well being and prosperity.Thus,adequacy,health,safety and security of a nation’s infrastructure system have a profound impact on its socio-economic state.This paper presents an architectural concept of an anatomical-based structural monitoring and diagnostic system that mimic human nervous system.The overall design,sensory system,and its self-powered monitoring technique are presented.Preliminary experimental data from a prototype cable-stayed bridge are discussed.
