The Influence of Magnetic Braking on Neutrino-dominated Accretion Disk
We consider the influence of magnetic fields on the model of Neutrino-dominated Accretion Flows(NDAFs)forgamma-ray bursts(GRBs) via the assumption that the accretion rate of the disk is totally caused by the torque of Lorentz force(i.e.magnetic braking)and magnetic viscosity. It turns out that the over-pressure magnetic fields shall be formed inevitablyunder the assumption of the steady-state accretion. It strongly implys that the steady-state accretion may be quite unstable atsuch high accretion rate of several solar masses. It is favorable to interpret the observed X-ray flares in the early afterglow ofthe GRBs.We also find that it is quite inconvenient for neutrino mechanism of the NDAFs to power the X-ray flares, since theluminosity drops rapidly with the decrease of accretion rate after the magnetic fields were included.
