The Effects of Weave Pattern and Yarn Color Configuration on Fabric Density Measurement Based on FFT Analysis
Based on the image scanning method,we experimentally studied the effects of weave pattern and yarn color configuration on calculation of fabric density using FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) technology to provide further solution reference to fabric density automatic measurement based on FFT analysis. The samples of investigation were specially designed for the FFT calculation validation and analysis, which was different from the previous literatures,i.e.there was a lack of constraint parameter with one another.Since our samples could ensure and validate single factor influencing on the FFT computation results,it was more comprehensive and accurate to separately investigate the effects of weave pattern and yarn color configuration on fabric density measurement. The results showed that the FFT method was efficient for regular samples but sensitive to the changes of weave pattern and yarn color arrangement because of the complexity of weave patterns. It was found that the yarn float has a great effect on the density measurement either in warp or weft direction. The computation accuracy in the weft was generally poorer than in the warp direction.Different setting of the neighboring color contrast was also experimentally analyzed and discussed. The results showed that the yarn color configuration also had a great influence on the density calculation accuracy.
