Responses of Flow and Deformation to Cyclic Change of Distal Resistance for Coronary Stenosis Model
The examining of hemodynamics and blood vessel mechanics provide the information for the disease of circulatory system.The increase of the blood velocity in the distal side of the stenosis causes negative transmural pressure,and atheroscrerotic plaque is compressed,furthermore,the stenosis may cause the collpase which leads the rupture of the plaque.We developed the stenosis model made of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) hydrogel which has the similar mechanical properties to the artery.We have developed the device of cyclic change of distal resistance of the coronary stenosis model in sync with pulsatile flow,and applied to the flow experiment.
