Preparation and Characterization of a Novel Composite Poly-N-isopropylacrylamide) Hydrogel and Controlled Release Studies

Novel composite poly (N-isopropylacrylamide) hydrogels were prepared by radical polymerization via using fibroin fiber as filling material.The effect of fibroin fiber on viscoelasticity and temperature response rate as well as oscillating swelling/deswelling properties of composite hydrogels was investigated.Those composite hydrogels within fibroin silk show improved viscoelasticity and response rate.Besides,oscillating swelling/deswelling properties of composite hydrogels increase with the fibroin silk content.Due to its biocompatibility and greater release profiles from drug release studies,the composite hydrogel is considered for potential biomedical applications.
