A Numerical Model of the Thermal and Water Vapor Transfer through Clothing in Windy Conditions
A numerical model of the thermal and water vapor transfer through clothing in windy conditions is presented in this paper.Transport of heat by conduction,heat and transport of water vapor by forced convection are included.Some factors of clothing structure are considered: thickness of textile materials,thickness of air layer between clothing and body,cover ratio of clothing on body’s surface.Body and clothing are simulated by coaxial circle cylinders.A brass cylinder with diameter of 150 mm that simulates thermal flow and sweating of body is developed to test result of numerical model.Its core temperature is maintained stability on 37oC.Modeling skin temperature is from 30 oC to 34 oC in standard condition environment and nude cylinder.The result of numerical model and experimental model shows good agreement.And by this numerical model,the effects of some factors of clothing structure on thermal and water vapor resistance of layered fabrics ensembles are investigated.
