Color Prediction for Blends of Pre-colored Wool
A blending with pre-colored fibers is widely used in textiles,especially wool textiles.But it is difficult to predict the proportions of the pre-colored fibers to the target color precisely.In this paper,based on Stearns-Noechel model,color matching formulation for blends from pre-colored wool top was studied.Through statistical analyzing of the constant M defined by Stearns and Noechel,the Stearns-Noechel formula was modified and a new formula was proposed.Compared with the old formula,the result showed that the new model could not only improve the matching accuracy,but also had a good linear correlation.Especially,the new model was used to predict 90 wool top blended samples,the color difference △E lower than 3.0 ClELAB units was obtained and these took 91.11％ of all samples.The average of these color differences were only 1.679 ClELAB units.This result indicated that the improved model was much suitable for color prediction of blends from pre-colored wool top.
